NOTARY PUBLIC
The City is now proud to offer FREE Notary services to residents of the City of Plantation!
To be eligible, you MUST be a primary signatory on the documents to be notarized. Proof of residency will be required. There is NO FEE if the notarization occurs at the City office. There may be a small fee if travel is requested. Please call or text to schedule an appointment.
Safety and Security Public Service Announcements

- Sheepdog Security, LLC is the City’s private security company. Sheepdog Security works closely with LMPD.
- Louisville Code Enforcement, LLC is the City’s Code Enforcement company. LCE works closely with Sheepdog Security and the City to enforce City Ordinances.
- If residents do not report concerns to LMPD or the City, it is difficult to gather information to determine if there is a true trend in an uptick of crimes or nuisances.
- Call 911 if you have a concern or see something that concerns you. LMPD Dispatch will triage your call and send an officer based on the severity of your concern.
- Lock your doors and keep valuables in your home.
- Use outdoor lighting around your home to help deter potential criminal activity.
Garbage Services

HOUSEHOLD TRASH, YARD DEBRIS, AND RECYCLING SERVICES
Household garbage totes, recycling bins, and yard debris should be at the curb by 5:00 am on Thursdays, the regularly scheduled collection day.
LARGE ITEMS
Large and/or bulky items such as stoves, water heaters, furniture may be placed at the curb for collection on regular collection days, however only one item per collection. Mattresses, box springs, and other upholstered items must be sealed by a plastic bag. You can purchase such bags at moving supply stores, home improvement stores, or most department stores.
Please contact our waste service provider, Rumpke, to give them 24-hour notice of any items on the large item list prior to collection day.

YARD WASTE
Yard waste must be properly prepared prior to placing it at the curb and contained in appropriate bags or containers. Limbs and branches less than 5” in diameter may be cut into lengths less than 3 ½ feet and tied into small bundles.
HOLIDAY SCHEDULE
There are six holidays that may affect the service day: New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.
If the date of the holiday is a Thursday: Service will be delayed to Friday for that week.
BACKDOOR PICKUP
If you are receiving a Homestead or Disability exception on your property taxes, you are eligible to have your household trash picked up at the back door.
To request a household trash tote, bin, or yard waste bag, request backdoor services, or ask any questions, please feel free to stop by or call the City Office at 425-4449. We will have Rumpke provide these to you.
REACH Alert

The City of Plantation has provided an alert and notification service free of charge to our residents. We use REACH Alert to immediately inform you of current events affecting our neighborhood. Registration is easy and takes less than a minute to complete.
1. Go to www.reachalert.com
2. When asked which organization you wish to join, type Plantation (click on our name when it appears in the drop-down screen)
3. On the new page, enter your preferred contact information. If you wish to add additional phone numbers or email addresses, simply click on ADD PHONE or ADD EMAIL
4. Upon completion, you will receive a text or email confirmation that you successfully registered.
